Dizzee Rascal - Tongue N' Cheek Review.

Let's kick it off straight away, by removing the elephant from this article. The seemingly baffled fans expecting grime shouldn't have even read this far ! Grime is in Dizzee Rascal's past, he no longer participates in musical activities with "dilly-dallying" grime-guys Roll Deep, but, at any given festival he may drop a version of Fix Up.

Or Start Dat.

Dylan (or Mr. Rascal, innit Jeremy ?) has had two number ones this year. One of those is the ear-drum raping 'Bonkers', production on that track is provided by dance legend Armand Van Helden. Talking of dance legends, Calvin Harris could well earn that title, if he continues producing records like he is at the moment. His name is a footprint on this CD's journey, 'Dance Wiv Me' earn't Dizzee and Calvin their first number ones last year, and that killer collaboration transfers (along with Chrome, who is on both records) onto 'Holiday'. This summers absolute smash had everyone skanking in the sun (no matter how brief it was), and the video featured a cameo from music ledge Goldie.

Someone else with huge input on this album is long time producer and partner for Dizzee's music, Cage. Responsible for 5 of the tracks on this album, his experience of working with Dizzee shows as Rascal parades wonderfully smooth over tunes such as 'Dirtee Cash' (a wonderful re-working of Stevie V's early 90's anthem), 'Chillin Wiv Da Man Dem' and 'Money, Money', which is pretty much Dizzee Rascal at his best.

'Road Rage' is probably as close to grime as you're gonna get, 'Cant Tek No More' borders on the line of rap-reggae whereas 'Freaky Freaky' showcases great lyrics from Dizzee, and is a slower choice compared to the majority of Dizzee's catalogue.

When inquiring about nations that are notorious for good musicians, the dutch are not the 1st to arise in thought. But Tiesto, a legendary electro DJ is responsible for the CD's curtain call track, 'Bad Behaviour' which does well to summarize a well put together and perfectly blended array of genre's and styles.

A rating ?? Hmmmmm.
